Maeda Jones was a student of mediumship before becoming a full time medium. She has trained at the Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp, at the Arthur Findlay College for Psychic Studies in England, and with the Inner Quest Foundation in British Columbia. She believes in continuing education and still attends mediumship retreats in order to improve her skill.

Maeda received her B.A. in Secondary Education/French Language from the New York State University at Oswego. She completed her M.A. and her coursework for her Ph.D. in Political Theory at New York University. Her work background includes teaching and social work/counseling.
