A labor of love and creative artistry.
The Cassadaga Fairy Trail is located at the intersection of Seneca and Chauncey streets. The brainchild of Lilian Carroll became a realty in 2012. Since then visitors and residents alike have enjoyed strolling through the paths dotted with delicate fairy houses and other magical items and structures. Recently Georgia Turner, Executive Director of the West Volusia Tourism office presented the camp with an offer to become part of the #wingsofthewest” project. Resident artist, Erica Group went to work on her fourth creation in the wings series. We are honored to have been chosen as home for Erica’s latest labor of love - Fairy Wings for our beloved fairy trail.
The official unveiling occurred on August 11, 2018 at our In Touch with Spirit Gala Day. A reception for the unveiling and a chance to “Meet the Artist” was held in the Fairy Trail. Visitors are invited to visit the wings any day before sunset. Be sure to bring a camera and when posting to social media use, #wingsofthewest.
Visitors are not permitted in the park after sunset as the fairies are busy at work and must not be disturbed.
Thank you to Georgia, Erica and everyone else (too many to mention here) for bringing this vision to life.
