Myers Prayer Garden
Happy Buddha in Myers Park, a bamboo wooded retreat
Myers Prayer Garden is named for a minister and medium from New York. Reverend Arthur Myers played a significant role in Spiritualism and in the Camp for his writings, his lectures, leadership and his contribution to the continuance of the Cassadaga community. He was quite willing to share his knowledge to those willing to listen. It was not uncommon for 30 or 40 people to sit on the steps of the Cassadaga Hotel and listen to him speak for hours-- sometimes until midnight.
In the 1980’s, a fish pond was created in Myers Park and named for longtime member Evelyn Taylor. The location of the pond has since been replaced with level ground and benches around its edge for meditation or prayer. It presents an inviting area to experience tranquility, peace and joy.
